Hope has an expansive list of over 40 directorial credits and has facilitated interactive workshops and numerous production tours across Manitoba.

Playwriting

Hope is a multi-award-winning playwright. Her work spans over 20 years and nearly 30 productions showcased in Winnipeg, Ontario, New Brunswick & British Columbia.

Education

For over 20 years, Hope has been a theatre educator – including experience as the Artistic Director of Sarasvàti Productions and Associate Professor at the University of Winnipeg Faculty of Theatre & Film.

About

Hope McIntyre is an award-winning playwright and director, as well as an Assistant Professor at the University of Winnipeg in Treaty 1 Territory.

McIntyre’s training includes a BFA in performance from the University of Saskatchewan and an MFA in directing from the University of Victoria. She was the founding Artistic Director of Sarasvàti Productions, a company dedicated to social change that she helmed for 22 years.

She has received the YWCA Women of Distinction Award, the Bra D’Or, and the Women Helping Women Award for her work supporting female playwrights. Her research focus is on community-based play creation and theatre for social change.
